Choosing A Web Designer
Choosing a web designer can be a tricky task. Many (if not most) believe they know what is best for their clients. Yet, although designers arguably know more about graphics, navigation, and download constraints, their clients are undoubtedly more knowledgeable about their business than any designer could ever hope (or want) to be. Therein lies the crux of so many misunderstandings and disappointments.
Where We Come From
At Ubizquity, we do not come with a graphic arts background but with a marketing and business administration one instead.
After graduating in 1989 from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business Administration (France) - majoring in International Marketing - our founder joined Club Med; first at two of their Turkish resorts and then for two years in London to coordinate all direct marketing activities out of the company's UK branch.
Saturated by the joys of marketing dreamlike vacation packages, he eventually settled for the more austere task of studying for a MBA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
After graduating in 1993 with a major in International Business and a short stint at Hyatt Regency in France, he traveled extensively throughout the world for 4½ years as a dispatched project director for a Spanish communications and press agency supervising the compilation of special country supplements published in notorious international press media. Over time, he developed a personal inclination for IT related editorial coverage.
More importantly maybe, he experienced first hand - as he relocated from one country to another - how the internet, with its speed, flexibility, low cost of entry, level playing field properties, ease of use and global interconnectedness, could generate efficiencies and commercial strengths if properly harnessed. Accordingly, he set out to develop his own expertise for this new medium as it was introduced to the world at large.
